  • 10 Unique Album Covers

    Fantikerz 12:40 am on September 3, 2009 | 6 comments Permalink | Reply

iTunes Album ArtThe art on the cover of an album reflects the style of the artist and what their music sounds like. I don’t know if it’s coincidence, but I find that a lot of really great songs are accompanied by some equally great album art. Perhaps that’s because I’m totally anal about my album art (I can’t stand having placeholder covers in my library). Anyway, I just thought I’d share a few that always seem to pop out whenever I’m scrubbing through my library. Who knows, some of these might give you some ideas for a creative project.

  • 10 Shows You Should Have Seen

    Fantikerz 11:40 am on August 23, 2009 | 6 comments Permalink | Reply

Kings CastPrime time television is a cruel place. If a show scores below two million views consistently, you can expect it to be cut by the executives. Sometimes that happens to truly great shows that just happen to be competing with other already popular programs like American Idol or even the Superbowl. Nonetheless, while everyone else is watching Simon Cowell in his ill-fitting shirts, there are still those one million loyal viewers waiting to see what happens in their favourite (albeit unpopular) series.

Today, I’ll be sharing some of those shows that had great potential, but a bad time slot. With all the garbage on TV these days, it might be good to shed some light on some shows that were unique, well produced, or ahead of their time.

  • 9 Videos That will Amuse You

    Videos

Everyone wants to relax once and a while and become entranced by the stupid humor that YouTube so graciously harbors. Once in a while, I come across an amusing video that should be much more popular than it currently is. In this post, I’ll share some of those videos with less than 300,000 views (at the time of posting) that will surely make you laugh or smile. No guarantees though.

Just a warning: these videos may be stupidly funny, so your self-pride may be at risk. It also might be a good idea to watch these when you’re alone, as some may be distasteful for the workplace.

  • Amusing Emails Vol. 1: I Hat You

    Fantikerz 9:11 pm on August 4, 2009 | 6 comments Permalink | Reply

I was trying to find a past email thread when one caught my eye, then another, and another. It seems that for every idiotic email I had gotten inGmail Interface the first part of the year, I replied with a sarcastic / zealous / humorous message. I’ve totally forgotten about some of these so I figured it may be fun to share.

The first one comes from a person who uses the alias Dorgles. It isn’t exactly hilarious, but it may serve a chuckle to a few.

  • Things that Irk Me

Sitting here waiting for my Steam items to download (Mirrors Edge and Assassin’s Creed, thanks for asking), I began to ponder 2058346033_25e28400bbthe phrases, words, and actions that are my pet peeves. I now present them in a neat, alphabetized list that you may use as a reference when communicating with me.*

Just know that there’s not any particular reason for writing this, and you shouldn’t take anything seriously — unless you’re Anthony or George. There might even be some things that you agree with, but don’t be surprised if there isn’t. In all seriousness, this post is really self-centered and is mostly a joke.

  • Why EvilChicken Failed

    Fantikerz 3:44 pm on June 3, 2009 | 12 comments Permalink | Reply

evilchickenIt began as a good idea, and a month later the ball was rolling. Max, Alec, Cameron, and I were going to collaborate on combining their majorly active sites into one large one. Several hundred thousands of visits a month was the plan, and we actually reached those numbers it in the month of  May. This would be a big venture for all of us, but soon things went sour and 3 months later the site was announced to be closing until further notice. Why, you ask?…

If you’re not aware of what EvilChicken is, you should go ahead and skip this entry. Things are going to get in-depth and it’ll be hard to understand at points if you weren’t there from the beginning.

Before I go on, I’d just like to preface this by saying that I’m not trying to shift any blame around, but instead outline the shortcomings and faults that led to the site’s demise. This should also serve as good reference material for anyone that wishes to start a large, community oriented site.

  • 19 Provocative Tracks

    Andain - Beautiful Things

I call a song provocative when it provokes you to think about or do something. The best ones even evoke some sort of emotion or memory, but those are rare and vary depending on the person. In this long overdue post, I outline some of my favourite provocative tracks. These usually get my juices flowing — be it for work or for play — I tend to do better after listening to these. Lame sounding, I know, but it’s true.

There’s a lot of genres here, and one of them is probably going to spike some of your interest… just take a peek inside.

  • 10 More Awesome Songs

    Fantikerz 7:23 pm on October 11, 2008 | 8 comments Permalink | Reply

Since my last post about outstanding songs, my collection of the said genre has grown (almost double!). So, on this gloomy day, I thought I would take the time to share them with you. Unlike last time, let’s jump in right away, and I’ll explain why each song is great as we go.

These songs are in no special order, and as always, I’ll try and make the selection as diverse as possible. If you don’t like one song, just keep going though the list and you’ll probably find something you can enjoy.

  • 11 Catchy or Feel Good Songs

    Fantikerz 10:09 pm on August 24, 2008 | 7 comments Permalink | Reply

All this post is about, is feel good , and catchy, songs. As a music junkie, I come across them quite often, and I even have a playlist of them on my iPod that’s 150-ish songs deep.

What makes a song catchy? A nice beat, of course, with sometimes clever lyrics. The same thing goes for the feel good songs, which will probably have some more meaningful lyrics.

I figured some of you might enjoy some songs on this Saturday morning. Here are some of the better ones, after the break…

  • BT: You're F*cking Awesome

    Fantikerz 8:10 pm on August 22, 2008 | 0 comments Permalink | Reply

    emotional-technology-by-bt_10317_full1

It seems that lately, all I’ve been posting is things relating to music. Why you ask? Well, why not? I can do whatever the hell I want to! If you don’t care about that, then come on it, and take some candy.

Alright, so let’s talk about the title. BT: he’s amazing and he’s f*cking awesome. Alright, so that covers the title. Now, let’s talk about why he’s f*cking awesome.

Well, it only just occurred to me 10 minutes before writing this, that I hadn’t established myself as a total BT fanboy on my blog yet. I couldn’t let that stay, so, here I am. Now, more to the point. BT is a musical force that has been pwning for years. So many years in fact, that you might even know some of his songs. Flaming June, Simply Being Loved, etc., being some of them.
